Division of Hematology/Oncology
The award winning Division of Hematology/Oncology is divided into twelve programs reflecting our partnership with Scripps MD Anderson Cancer Center, where all of our physicians are faculty. Each of our members subspecialize in one or two areas of oncology or malignant hematology, affording maximal medical expertise. Most patients benefit from this composition; they are seen in multidisciplinary clinics and reviewed in multidisciplinary treatment planning conferences. The team is involved in research opportunities in numerous areas including cutting edge programs in pancreatic and hepatocellular cancers. Our blood and marrow transplantation program is one of the oldest in the nation, providing state of the art autologous and allogeneic transplants for patients with leukemias, lymphomas, and multiple myeloma. With its designation as a Center of Excellence with the National Marrow Donor Program, our stem cell pheresis program is the largest unrelated donor program in the country.
